Phil Taylor and Lorna Royle took part in this popular event in sunny but wintry conditions. The “quiet country lane” nature of much of the course had its downside as there were no cars passing to blast the ice away with their nice warm exhaust fumes (let’s not even get into the concept that the gritters might have visited such remote parts the night before). Phil came a cropper just over halfway on a particularly slippery stretch of lane and ended up momentarily switching to the sport of luge, but fortunately managed to get up and carry on. Sure you weren’t the only one Phil!! Times were understandably slightly affected by the caution-requiring conditions, but our daring duo nevertheless managed very good times of 50.30 (Lorna) and 51.00 (Phil) respectively.
