City of Manchester 10k 6th July 2008
This well-organised, popular event took place in
overcast and blustery conditions on a fairly flat three lap course (thankfully
decreasing in size). Jay Jennions, in
her competitive comeback eight weeks after injury, still has some residual
fallout which held her back significantly to post 43.59 however this was an
improvement on last month’s Race for Life, showing things are moving in the
right direction. Rose Rogers added yet
another LV55 win to her impressive collection with a tremendous 48.22. Phil Taylor, who has been focussing on long
training runs for the upcoming Budapest Half and Snowdonia Marathon, kept it
steady for a strong 50.46 and is now motivated to get back to those speed
sessions. Thanks go to Mike O’Brien for
marshalling
