City of Manchester 10k 6th July 2008

This well-organised, popular event took place in overcast and blustery conditions on a fairly flat three lap course (thankfully decreasing in size).  Jay Jennions, in her competitive comeback eight weeks after injury, still has some residual fallout which held her back significantly to post 43.59 however this was an improvement on last month’s Race for Life, showing things are moving in the right direction.  Rose Rogers added yet another LV55 win to her impressive collection with a tremendous 48.22.  Phil Taylor, who has been focussing on long training runs for the upcoming Budapest Half and Snowdonia Marathon, kept it steady for a strong 50.46 and is now motivated to get back to those speed sessions.  Thanks go to Mike O’Brien for marshalling
